Anniversary service at Sedgemoor Crematorium
A special Thanksgiving Service is taking place at Sedgemoor Crematorium this month to commemorate 10 years of service to the bereaved in the surrounding communities.
The event takes place on Saturday 20 July between 12 noon and 1pm and is open to anyone to attend.
The service will be led by local celebrants Emma Britton and Beverley Symonds, alongside Reverend Will Lane and there will be music provided by The Vixens.
Visitors will also be able to tour the grounds and, if they wish, leave a message, letter or card to someone they have lost in the ‘Letters to Loved Ones’ memorial post box.
Sedgemoor Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Westerleigh Group prides itself on providing exceptional care to the bereaved, the standards of which are inspected by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) in England and Wales and the Scottish Government.
Sedgemoor Crematorium manager Laura Williams said: “No booking is necessary, the service is open to anyone we’ve served during the decade we’ve been open and anyone else who would like to attend.
“We are also hoping to see some funeral directors, celebrants, florists and charities who have had contact with us over the past ten years to join us for our Thanksgiving and commemoration.
“We are very proud of the exceptional care we have provided to the bereaved locally and are determined to continue to help provide uniquely personal services in honour of their loved ones for many years to come.
“I look forward to welcoming many members of our local communities to our Thanksgiving later this month.”
